MapmyIndia, a digital maps startup, acquires 26.37 percent ownership in Kogo

MapmyIndia has invested $1.25 million to purchase a 26.37 percent ownership in Kogo, a company developing big-scale travel and hyperlocal discovery platform. As part of the agreement, MapmyIndia would have the opportunity to increase its investment to 50% in two years.

Kogo Tech would utilize the funds to offer service to automobile OEMs in India. Additionally, MapmyIndia will use Kogo’s platform to boost customer interaction.

The company asserts that the integrated platform would enable car original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to boost engagement, brand loyalty, and monetization potential for in-vehicle commerce.

Rakesh Verma, Chairman and Managing Director of MapmyIndia, said that the relationship with KOGO would “enhance and empower the next generation of travel, outdoors, hyper-local, and on-the-go experiences and use cases for everybody.”

In July, MapofIndia introduced the nation’s first 360-degree, all-around street view and 3D Metaverse Maps Service. The service is accessible through the free mapping site Mappls.com for PCs and mobile devices, as well as the Mappls App for Android and iOS.
