Lulu Group Inaugurates First Shopping Mall in Hyderabad, Reiterates ₹3,500 Crore Investment Commitment to Telangana

Lulu Group, a U.A.E.-based retailer, celebrated the opening of its first shopping mall in Hyderabad, marking its debut in the State. The inaugural event was attended by Telangana’s Industries and IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao, who joined in the celebration. During the event, Chairman M.A. Yusuff Ali announced Lulu Group’s ₹3,500 crore investment commitment to Telangana, which encompasses a range of projects, including a 2 million square feet destination mall, a modern food processing facility, seafood procurement and processing center, and more.

“This is our first venture in the State. Our second project will be an export-oriented state-of-the-art food processing facility, including meat processing, in Hyderabad,” stated M.A. Yusuff Ali. He also highlighted the group’s plans for a seafood procurement and processing center in Siricilla, Telangana, to support the local fishing community.

In addition to these projects, Lulu Group has pledged ₹3,500 crore over the next three years for the development of a destination shopping mall, mini malls, and an agricultural produce sourcing, logistics, and processing hub. These initiatives aim to facilitate 100% exports and promote Telangana products both in India and overseas.

Telangana’s Industries and IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao expressed optimism that Lulu Group’s investments would exceed the ₹3,500 crore commitment, benefiting the youth in Telangana through job creation and enhancing the income of farmers, fishers, and poultry producers.

“We will show the Lulu Group team more opportunities and ensure they have the best of experience in India. I can promise you, Yusuff bhai, that you can use Telangana as a stepping stone for many good things for India and the rest of the world as well,” Minister K.T. Rama Rao assured.

The inauguration of the Lulu Mall in Hyderabad, covering an area of 5 lakh sq. ft., is considered a significant addition to the city’s retail landscape, offering a diverse shopping experience for customers.
