Liquidnitro Games, a burgeoning force in live service and game production based in Hyderabad, has announced securing $5.25 million (approximately INR 43 crore) in a seed funding round led by Nexus Venture Partners.
Joining Nexus Venture Partners are gaming industry veterans from the US, Canada, the EU, and India as angel investors, underlining the global interest in Liquidnitro’s innovative approach.
The funding injection is earmarked for the establishment of a state-of-the-art studio, substantial investments in AI and technology to revolutionize production pipelines, and scaling up live services capabilities, as stated by the startup.
Established in 2023 by Sandeep Kowdley, Krishna Dhanekula, Arun Kunchala, and Suresh Manthena, Liquidnitro harnesses the power of data, AI, and technology-driven insights to craft immersive gaming experiences. Collaborating with game studios and IP owners worldwide, Liquidnitro aims to unlock growth, profitability, and expansion into new markets.
In a statement, Kowdley expressed his vision, saying, “Live services and game production will look significantly different in the coming years shaped by new technologies, AI, and untapped growth markets. By combining our deep history in the games industry, making significant technology investments, and partnering with global game companies, we believe we have the opportunity to make a huge impact in the coming future.”
The Indian gaming sector has been attracting increasing investor interest. Earlier this year, sportstech startup SportVot secured INR 9.4 crore in pre-Series A funding led by Omidyar Network to bolster its tech capabilities and product offerings.
At the recent Meta Gaming Summit in Mumbai, Sandhya Devananthan, Meta’s India MD, highlighted the sector’s potential, estimating that the Indian gaming space is poised to reach a market size of almost $7.5 billion and create 250,000 jobs by next year.
In a bid to further boost the gaming industry, the Karnataka government has partnered with Games24x7 to launch GameTech Accelerate – The Future of Gaming, an online gaming accelerator initiative aimed at mentoring startups offering innovative and viable solutions.
