KinderPass raises $500K in pre-seed round of funding

KinderPass, a Rebalance Cohort 03 startup, received $500K in pre-seed funding from investors including Supermorpheus, Better Capital, Momentum VC, Goodwater Capital, and Rebalance Angel Community.

According to Rebalance, the team plans to utilise the funding to launch video-based language detection modules, develop a proprietary parent education platform, grow its network of clinicians, and collaborate with pre-schools and schools to reach more families.

With the intention of supporting parents in comprehending, monitoring, and fostering their child’s development, Sumedha Khoche and Shireen Sultana co-founded KinderPass.

The majority of developmental delays are not identified or treated in the early years because developmental screening and early intervention are not the norms. Parents must deal with (1) inadequate treatment quality (2) fragmented therapy services at many locations (3) expensive expenses, which will result in poor compliance and poor outcomes, if and when the problem is discovered. Of course, this doesn’t even take into account the level of stress and logistical load associated with coordinating the care, keeping track of the child’s progress, and maintaining records. Sumedha Khoche and Shireen Sultana, co-founders of KinderPass, declared, “We aim to alter this.

Kinderpass makes it possible to identify developmental deficiencies early, provide individualised therapy, choose the best therapist, and provide outstanding integrative care. Sumedha and Shireen are dedicated and enthusiastic founders who, in my opinion, will be unstoppable, said Khang Tran, Partner and VP of Engineering at Goodwater Capital in response to the raise. I’m excited to work with them to improve the lives of so many youngsters.

The app has allowed for thousands of tests and live sessions in ten different languages since its inception at the start of 2020, and it has received over 1.2 million downloads. KinderPass has assisted families in more than 75 cities, from Bengaluru to Balrampur and Delhi to Dubai, with a network of more than 50 child specialists (including teachers, occupational therapists, psychologists, and behaviour therapists).

“KinderPass is a special, purpose-driven business. Ankur Shrivastava of Momentum Capital remarked, “I truly respect how they’re handling the major problem of developmental monitoring & intervention access for millions of parents globally with their distribution-first approach.

This healthcare vacuum is being filled by KinderPass, the first multilingual app in India, which is presently available in Hindi and English and will soon be available in an additional six languages.

“We met Sumedha and Shireen at a really important point for KinderPass and we couldn’t be happier to join with them on their mission to become Asia’s leading paediatric behavioural health firm,” continued Aishwarya Malhi and Vikas Kumar, co-founders of Rebalance and Rebalance Angel Community.

With over 1500 skill-building courses and 50+ examinations, they are offering a tech-enabled diagnosis and care method that is both affordable and accessible, giving parents the power of 7 developmental specialists in their pocket.

“KinderPass is a significant business. Having seen firsthand the developmental difficulties of close family and friends, Vaibhav Domkundwar of Better Capital, an early backer of health tech innovators like Cradlewise, Fittr, Mojocare & others, said, “I was thrilled to find a team of passionate founders who want to help parents get the right kind of help at the right time so their children can overcome their disabilities and thrive. Action for India, T-hub, WE-hub, Jio BuildforBharat, and Kinderpass have all received support for this project.
