Investment firm Lighthouse Canton closes its Venture debt fund at Rs 155.4 Crores

Lighthouse Canton, a global investment firm, has announced the first close of its venture debt fund, a Category – II AIF, at Rs 155.4 crores.
Lighthouse Canton’s regional venture debt strategy includes the fund, which has a capacity of Rs 550 crores and a greenshoe option of an additional Rs 550 crores. Onshore and offshore institutions, as well as family offices, have taken part.
The fund will provide debt capital to technology-enabled businesses in India’s startup ecosystem.

This is the year’s second fund dedicated to the Indian startup ecosystem. Lighthouse Canton partnered with Nueva Capital earlier this year to launch its first venture capital fund, LC Nueva, focused on pre-series A and series A companies in India. The Fund was oversubscribed and successfully applied to the regulator for an additional Rs 50 crore.
Lighthouse Canton claims to have over 100 experienced professionals in Singapore, Dubai, and India, and it manages and advises on over $3 billion in assets.
Earlier this month, edtech unicorn LEAD (formerly Lead School) and neobanking platform Jupiter announced their debt funding.
