Investcorp Launches $750 Million Climate Solutions Investment Platform

Investcorp, a Bahrain-based investment firm, has introduced a $750-million climate solutions investment platform aimed at supporting companies globally in their decarbonization efforts. The platform intends to invest in 10-15 companies over the next four to five years, with each funding round ranging between $50 million and $75 million. The focus will be on innovative products and technologies designed to reduce global emissions.
Investcorp’s co-chief executive, Kapoor, emphasized the disproportionate risk associated with climate change in the Global South and highlighted the platform’s potential to bring affordable climate solutions to this region. The firm, managing $50 billion in assets, aims to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050 and support companies with climate-friendly policies in their decarbonization initiatives. The initiative aligns with global discussions on decarbonization technologies, with Dubai hosting the COP28 climate conference.
Investcorp has a history of investing in over 70 global companies across various sectors, including technology, real estate, ecommerce, and infrastructure.
