Intents Mobi raises $1 Mn in bridge round led by DevX Venture Fund


Intents Mobi, a Gurgaon-based geospatial intelligence firm, said today that it has secured $1 million in a round-headed by DevX Venture Fund. Other investors in the round included Unnati Labs and a number of well-known strategic angels from the Logistics and Mobility sectors, whose companies are supported by Tier 1 VCs.

The money will be used to expand the company’s technological capabilities, enhance the gathering of GIS data for the country, and boost enterprise sales. The firm relies on a network of ‘Scouts,’ a community of over 700,000 individuals who help provide data for location information.

The firm was founded by Naresh Kumar Kachhi and Tabrez Alam, who were later joined by Balasubramaniam S and Prakash Velusamy. It presently employs 15 employees, with 10 of them solely focused on technological development.

Intents Mobi seeks to resolve GIS data difficulties that affect every business involved in mobility. The funds will be used to expand the gathering of GIS data for India as well as to develop new products. The fund would enable the firm to enhance this by 5X and cover the 50 most populated cities of the country by the end of the year since it presently creates insights for about 4.5 crore kilometres of roads each day and analyses 3 million geocodes per month.

Umesh Uttamchandani, COO of DevX Venture Fund said that DVF is thrilled to lead the fundraising round in Intents Mobi with the company’s follow-on participation.
