All’s well that ends well is a fitting phrase for Uber, a global mobility provider company, at the end of the year. According to the company’s report, A Year In Review: How India Ubered in 2022, Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Kolkata booked the most Uber rides this year.
According to reports, Indians spent 11 billion minutes and traveled 4.5 billion kilometers in Uber this year. According to a fun fact released by the company, the kilometers covered are the same as the distance between Earth and Neptune.
Delhi-NCR had the highest overall number of trips, as well as the highest number of office-hour trips. According to the report, its immediate neighbors Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad also chose to return to work in Ubers.

The majority of Uber trips in India were booked between 5 and 6 p.m., with Saturday having the most bookings in a week. In terms of number of trips, Uber Go (relatively low-cost car rides) was the most popular product in India, followed by Uber Auto.
Furthermore, sweet rides were the talk of the town, or at least the talk of Uber on October 22, around the Diwali festival. This day saw the most package deliveries via Uber Connect—delivery Uber’s service—in 2022.
“Backed by rider insights and data, the report shares insights on the increasing importance of ridesharing within the country and efforts to create sustainable cities for the future,” added Uber.
People used Uber’s service to travel intercity as well as within the city or from office to home and elsewhere. According to Uber, the top five intercity routes in India are Mumbai-Pune, Mumbai-Nashik, Delhi-Agra, Jaipur-Chandigarh, and Lucknow-Kanpur. It also revealed that the longest intercity trips by kilometers traveled by Indians this year were Delhi-Purnia, Delhi-Madhubani, Bangalore-Mumbai, Delhi-Varanasi, and Delhi-Ahmedabad. The distance between Delhi and Purnia alone is over 1300 kilometers.
The global mobility service provider, which was founded in 2010, is now present in 123 Indian cities. In terms of newcomer cities, Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh emerged as the newcomer city with the most trips.
