Healthcare Venture Incubator 2070 Health Secures $30 Million Funding for Cutting-Edge Platform

2070 Health, a healthcare venture incubator, secures $30 million in funding from W Health Ventures, a venture capital firm, to establish a cutting-edge platform for the development of healthcare enterprises in India. The investment will be utilized to provide initial capital for the newly launched companies.

W Health Ventures and 2070 Health have a common team of co-founders. W Health Ventures is an investor with operations in the United States and India, while 2070 Health serves as its dedicated incubator.

“The healthcare industry is slow to change, relationship-driven, highly regulated, and complex to navigate for new entrants. As a result, building healthcare companies in India is particularly hard. The rules of building fast-paced technology start-ups seldom apply when you’re dealing with people’s lives,” said Sunil Wadhwani, president of W Health Ventures.

2070 Health has already established three companies and offers valuable support to founders in testing, launching, and refining their ideas. According to a statement, the company intends to introduce 15 to 20 healthcare enterprises within the next five years. With a dedicated team of 40 professionals specializing in venture design, product development, and go-to-market strategies, 2070 Health collaborates closely with founders to drive growth and make a meaningful impact.

2070 Health said it evaluates potential ideas that address white spaces in healthcare. “Each short-listed concept goes through a stringent validation process involving conversations with doctors and patients, clinical studies, and go-to-market experiments, to arrive at a solution. Nine out of ten ideas are killed at this stage,” it added.

After assembling the founding team for selected ideas, 2070 Health implements diverse playbooks encompassing clinical development, product strategies, marketing initiatives, omnichannel expansion, and enterprise collaborations. The widespread digitization of healthcare workflows has resulted in the emergence of numerous business models, including doctor bookings, tele-consultation, e-pharmacy, and e-diagnostics. These advancements have been further accelerated due to the impact of the Covid pandemic.

Over the last nine months, 2070 Health has successfully introduced three companies: ElevateNow, Nivaan Care, and Reveal HealthTech.
