GOPIZZA raises $25 million in Series C funding to expand in India


South Korean pizza company GOPIZZA raised $25 million (about Rs 200 crore) in Series C funding round co-led by GS Ventures, CJ Investment, Mirae Asset Securities, NCORE Ventures, Woori Bank, Capstone Partners, Big Basin Capital, DS Asset Management, and Pureun Investment.

The company will use the additional funding to further its expansion goals in India, supported by cutting-edge robotic and AI technologies.

The money will enable us to greatly expand our operations across the nation and further solidify our position in the Indian market, enabling us to become the pan-India market leader in the area, according to Mahesh Reddy, CEO of GOPIZZA India. By 2023, we want to open 100 stores.The funds will also be used to introduce the renowned brand technology to all Indian locations, ensuring quick delivery of pizzas of the highest calibre.

160 locations of the one-person, oval, fire-baked pizza company GOPIZZA may be found in South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, India, and Hong Kong.

The company has 15 locations in India, and its first store is scheduled to open in Hyderabad next month. By the end of 2022, the brand hopes to have 25 outlets, and by the end of 2023, it will have over 100.To assure uniform quality, the single-serving pizza business will also roll out its unique in-house GOVEN automatic pizza oven, GOBOT cooperative robot, and its AI Smart Topping Table.

In the upcoming years, GOPIZZA will open locations in Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Kochi, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, and some significant Tier II cities. Globally, the brand wants to expand into the US, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

In Bengaluru in 2019, GOPIZZA opened its first location in India and began selling exceptional one-person pizzas at affordable costs.Woori Bank, Capstone Partners, Big Basin Capital, DS Asset Management, and DSC Investment have previously invested $20 million in the company.
