Google Cloud injects Rs 1.7 Cr into ProjectX.Cloud, eyes $3M funding


Rounak Adhikary, a student at Lovely Professional University, has secured substantial support for his brainchild, ‘ProjectX.Cloud,’ receiving an infusion of $200,000 (Rs 1.70 crore) in infrastructure aid from Google Cloud. His project focuses on developing a cloud-based operating system that aims to eliminate hardware reliance across various devices.

Adhikary, the young founder, is actively seeking seed funding totaling $3 million (Rs 24 crore) to further propel the growth and development of ProjectX.Cloud. His endeavors initially gained recognition through grants amounting to Rs 10 lakh from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Electronics and IT. Additionally, he has been honored through the Microsoft Founder’s Programme and AWS Activate Founder’s Programme, securing supplementary funding exceeding Rs 50 lakh.

Expressing his aspirations, Adhikary stated, “ProjectX.Cloud is dedicated to revolutionizing device functionality by reducing dependency on hardware.” His project’s innovative approach has earned it a spot in the Launchpad accelerator at IIM Bangalore, drawing attention from prominent global venture capital firms.

Adhikary’s efforts have piqued the interest of various significant investors, including IFC World Bank, Elevation Capital, Campus Fund, and Kalaari Capital. His vision and the unique proposition of ProjectX.Cloud have resonated within the investment community, showcasing promising potential for future advancements in cloud-based technology.
