Funding Alert

GetWork, a SaaS platform for fresher recruitment, secures Rs 7 crore in funding

GetWork, an end-to-end SaaS platform based in Gurugram, has announced that it raised Rs 7 crore in a Pre-series, A funding round from Samarthya Investment Advisors, NVS Wealth Managers, and Artha Venture Fund. The company made this announcement in a statement.

In addition to the aforementioned investors, prominent founders and angel investors such as Pravin Agarwala (cofounder of Betterplace), Shuchi Kothari (director of Health & Glow and DSP Group Family Office), and Saurabh Garg (cofounder of NoBroker) also participated in the funding round.

GetWork recently introduced GetWork Club, a comprehensive marketplace that offers a wide range of services to students, including resume building, upskilling courses, mentorship programs, and merchandise, all in one place.

Rahul Veerwal, the founder of GetWork, stated that despite over 42,000 colleges and training schools adding 1.2 crore fresh graduates to the workforce annually, there is a lack of a singular platform that caters to the needs of graduates from tier 2 and tier 3 colleges in terms of specific tools, guidance, and job opportunities. The company’s placement platform and GetWork Club have been developed to address this significant issue. With the help of a group of enthusiastic investors secured through the latest funding round, GetWork aims to expand its platform across India in the next 18 months.

Artha Venture Fund led a seed funding round of Rs 2 crore for GetWork in March 2021.  According to Anirudh Damani, managing partner of Artha Venture Fund, numerous industries such as IT, manufacturing, finance, and pharma are actively hiring fresh graduates to meet their business requirements. GetWork simplifies the process of discovering the ideal candidate from the millions of students who join the workforce each year. He further stated that the progress made by the company is just the beginning of what will eventually become the largest platform for fresh graduates in India.

At present, more than 6,500 employers are recruiting from over 1,000 colleges across India on the GetWork platform, which boasts a student base of 1.3 million. Over the last 90 days, numerous freshers have been successfully placed with leading companies such as ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda, Reliance Retail, and Justdial, as well as startups like LeverageEdu, Lawyered, and Nutrifresh.

The online recruitment market in India is valued at over Rs. 50,000 crores, with HR tech platforms in the country securing more than Rs 5,000 crores in funding since 2020.
