Gaming major Krafton invests $5.4 million in Game Development Studio Nautilus Mobile


Gaming Major startup Krafton has recently announced that it has invested a sum of $5.4 million in JetSynthesys-owned game development studio Nautilus Mobile. This investment marks the first investment of the former in a game development studio in India.

Sources reveal that the recent round of funding will be utilised by the startup to deepen its penetration within the global markets. Furthermore, the game development studio also intends to expand its scope to other games apart from cricket.

Talking about the recent round of funding, the CEO of JetSynthesys and chairman of Nautilus Mobile, Rajan Navani said, “With Nautilus, we have the aspiration of building India’s best gaming studio. Krafton’s investment in Nautilus will let us unlock the journey that we believe is just the beginning of what the gaming industry will see moving forward.”

With this investment, Krafton would help Nautilus with its expertise through its subsidiary RisingWings which also deals with sports games. Apart from that, the former will also help the startup with aspects like monetization and game development.

“Krafton is excited to invest in Nautilus as the first game development studio in India with whom we share a common goal of creating more unique sports gaming experiences for a passionate cricketing Indian audience,” said Sean Hyunil Sohn, India head of Krafton Inc. He added that Krafton would also look to learn from Nautilus, which has expertise in cricket.
