Flutrr, India’s pioneering vernacular dating app, has announced a successful fundraise of INR 4 Crores in a funding round led by The Chennai Angels, with participation from The Times of India and esteemed individual investors like Vivek Singh, Adhiraj Sarin, and Ramki Ravulpalli, among others.
The infusion of capital will empower Flutrr to expand its user base to 5 million and target a monthly revenue of Rs. 100 lakhs, solidifying its position as a highly profitable enterprise.
In India, often referred to as “Bharat,” there are approximately 500 million young individuals with limited English fluency. However, the widespread availability of affordable internet access, catalyzed by the ‘JIO Effect,’ has bridged the digital divide, reaching even the remotest corners of the nation. Flutrr is at the forefront of this transformation, offering a dating app accessible in 16 Indian languages. This innovative approach enables young individuals to connect with potential romantic partners in their native tongues, fostering deeper and more meaningful connections.
Anirban Banerjee, Co-Founder, and CMO of Flutrr, articulated their vision, saying, “At Flutrr, we want to bring back romance by creating more deep and meaningful connections.”
Furthermore, Flutrr is deeply committed to empowering women in smaller towns, allowing them to assert their identity and freedom when choosing life partners. Proprietary technology underpins this commitment, ensuring a safe and private online dating experience.
The father and son duo, Kaushik Banerjee and Anirban Banerjee, form Flutrr’s founding team. Kaushik Banerjee commented on the recent funding, stating, “Flutrr transcends the typical dating app. We are dedicated to one profound mission: empowering small-town youth in embracing their freedom to select their romantic partners in the language of their roots. Over time, we’ve garnered substantial support from luminaries within the corporate sphere, including top-level executives from Fortune 500 companies. The recent funding round led by The Chennai Angels, one of the most prestigious Angel platforms in the country, gives us confidence that we are on the right path.”
Flutrr has not only introduced a unique business model tailored to India’s hinterlands but has also achieved remarkable milestones in a short span of time. With over 600,000 downloads and an active user base exceeding 400,000, Flutrr is on track to reach a break-even point by March 2024.

We, at The Chennai Angels, are excited about the prospect of scaling this journey together with Flutrr.”
