Funding Alert

FirstUp, Raipur coworking startup led by Karan Daga, secures funding

FirstUp, Chhattisgarh’s largest coworking space with over 250 operational seats and an impressive 70% plus occupancy, has recently secured a seed funding round of Rs 2 crores at a valuation of Rs 20 crores. The funding came from a group of angel investors associated with the India Angel Fund. The startup’s growth was notably catalyzed by Karan Daga, a first-generation entrepreneur, who initiated the venture earlier this year with a modest 2000 Sq Ft center in Civil Lines.

Under Karan’s leadership, FirstUp has rapidly expanded its capacity, currently boasting over 250 seats in Civil Lines adjacent to the Governor House. The company is poised for further growth, planning to transition into a larger building accommodating approximately 750 seats in the near future. Serving diverse clienteles, from enterprises to individual professionals, FirstUp offers managed offices and flexible workspaces. Karan’s vision extends beyond the current expansion, aiming to establish additional centers within the city and across other regions in the state and country.

The resurgence of the coworking trend in India, particularly in Tier-2, Tier-3, and other emerging cities, post-COVID, has been notable. Karan is strategically eyeing collaborations with real estate entities to fuel future expansion while also focusing on talent acquisition for community building and partnerships within the coworking space.

FirstUp stands as a significant player in Chhattisgarh’s coworking landscape, distinguishing itself with managed office spaces, flexible work arrangements, and a unique shared studio service for creators. Positioned in a prime location adjacent to the Governor House, the startup’s rapid growth aligns with the rising demand for vibrant coworking spaces and a thriving community.
