fintech firm Fi Money appoints Poornima Kamath as head of people and culture


Poornima Kamath has been appointed as head of people and culture by Fintech firm Fi Money. Kamath had worked in leadership roles at Microsoft and  The Coca-Cola Company. With over 20 years of experience in talent and culture transformation she brings to the firm’s leadership team.

When she worked at Coca-Cola, Poornima Kamath served as associate vice-president and chief diversity and inclusion officer. Before that, she was responsible for leading international teams during her 12-years at Microsoft. She has experience working in business groups for engineering, research, services, and support in APAC, South Africa, and Europe.

Fi Money is backed by leading venture capital firms including Sequoia India, Ribbit Capital and B Capital Group.

Kamath said “Having worked with a number of successful global companies over the last couple of decades, I am looking forward to being part of this growing organisation as we design and implement a people agenda that drives our business forward,” 

Poornima Kamath joins at a time when the startup expects to double its staff by the end of this year, and she will strengthen the people practises of the three-year-old fintech company and assist create the organisational culture needed to attract, develop, engage, and retain top talent.

Sujith Narayanan, co-founder and CEO, Fi Money said “As we grow, it is critical to expand our leadership team and capabilities. People and culture have always been and will continue to be one of our most important pillars. Poornima joins our leadership team to own and lead all our efforts on the people side,” 

As the demand for top talent grows, Kamath will assist the business in developing and implementing new hiring and retention processes. The firm has achieved 2 million customers since it released its app in June last year.
