Elon Musk ditches Twitter’s signature bird logo for Doge meme-inspired Kabosu Shiba Inu logo

Elon Musk has made a change to the Twitter logo, opting to say farewell to the traditional bird logo and instead adopting a new design inspired by the popular Doge meme. When accessing the Twitter website, users will now see a loading screen featuring the new Kabosu Shiba Inu logo, and the display picture on Twitter’s homepage has also been updated accordingly.

Elon Musk revealed the new Twitter logo via a screenshot of a conversation on his Twitter account with a user called “Chairman”. Musk had replied positively to a suggestion to replace the bird logo with the Doge meme. The move caused a surge in the price of Dogecoin, but it is unclear whether it was a belated April Fools’ joke or something more significant. However, Musk is currently facing a $258 million lawsuit over his promotion of Dogecoin.

Separately, Musk also announced that legacy accounts on the platform would lose their blue checkmarks from April 1, although the verification process is reportedly delayed due to a lack of staff.
