Design Cafe raises Rs 40 crore funding from WestBridge Capital, Mirabilis Investments

DesignCafe, a company that provides solutions for home interiors, has secured a follow-on Series B funding round worth Rs 40 crore. The funding was led by private equity fund WestBridge Capital, as well as venture debt fund Alteria Capital and Mirabilis Investment Trust.

According to a press release by DesignCafe, the recent Rs 40 crore follow-on Series B funding round also included participation from existing investors such as Sixth Sense and the company’s founders, Shezaan Bhojani and Gita Ramanan. This latest funding round follows the company’s previous $25 million Series B fundraising in September 2021.

 

DesignCafe’s co-founder and CEO, Shezaan Bhojani, stated that the latest funding round will enable the company to expand both its brands into new markets across India. He also expressed confidence in achieving profitability soon, as the company has been delivering an impressive annual growth rate of 60-70%. Bhojani further mentioned that he and the other co-founder, Gita Ramanan, have decided to reinvest in the company at this stage.

Gita Ramanan, who is also a co-founder and CEO of DesignCafe, stated that the company is currently operating in 10 cities and rapidly expanding. She mentioned that the company is not only expanding DesignCafe but also its new brand Qarpentri, which offers a differentiated offering.
