Deep tech startup PrivaSapien raises Rs 8 Crore in seed round led by Omidyar


PrivaSapien, a privacy engineering deep tech startup, has raised Rs 8 crore in a seed round led by Omidyar Network India.

According to a press release from PrivaSapien, the company intends to increase its research and product development efforts, as well as accelerate sales and marketing efforts in geographies with privacy regulations around the world.

Privacy X-Ray, one of PrivaSapien’s key products, is an automated privacy audit tool that assesses privacy risk in a dataset, reducing the time required from a few weeks to a few minutes. It also makes intelligent recommendations to reduce risk and comply with regulations.

PrivaSapien, co-founded by Abilash Soundararajan and Deepika Abilash, is a business-to-business privacy engineering firm that assists businesses in unlocking data without violating user privacy. PrivaSapien employs privacy-enhancing technologies to enable the visualisation and mitigation of privacy risks, in order to create “privacy by design” applications and data flows of the future, thereby providing businesses with a strategic advantage through data while gaining customer and regulator trust.

According to PrivaSapien, its products have a wide range of applications and are currently used in industries that handle sensitive personal data, such as healthcare, finance, telecommunications, and connected devices, where analytics or cross-border data transfer play an important role. To achieve a global and population-scale impact, the company is collaborating with global technology partners in areas such as cloud, consulting, and system integration.
