Conclusion of the 2023 Business Women Expo


On Sunday night, the fourth annual Business Women Expo 2023 came to a close at Hitex. The theme of the exhibition, “More Power to Women,” was represented by 220 exhibitors from 15 states, and more than 60 stalls were supported by MSME, Govt of India.

Supported by the Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India, T-HUB, WE-Hub, WEDO, The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), the Indian Chamber of Commerce, and various other trade bodies, the Expo for women entrepreneurs and innovators was the largest ever held.

Abhinava from AasaanWill reported that they have received numerous inquiries regarding Online Will Writing, which is gaining popularity, following the news of an 85-year-old man who bequeathed property worth ₹1.5 crore to the Uttar Pradesh Government due to his dissatisfaction with his five children.

AasaanWill was one of the stalls at the show, among others. Mr. Abhinav from AasaanWill shared that they had assisted over 1,000 people with creating their wills. However, he expressed concern that a vast majority of the Indian population, about 95%, is not well-informed about wills and the process of creating them. He advised women to take steps to safeguard their hard-earned assets.

At the expo, the Ancient Foods stall showcased a range of food items made without the use of refined flour, sugar, preservatives, or gluten. These foods were rich in fiber and included healthy millet snack packs that are suitable for children, parents, and schools. In addition, they offered guilt-free millet desserts.

At the exhibition, Kangofield exhibited an array of distinctive home décor items such as wall murals, dhokra wall frames, vintage elephant figurines, mirrors, and cow heads. Meanwhile, Basta, a startup established by Archita Prahladka, showcased their line of reusable bags. Additionally, Banka Bio exhibited their range of compostable garbage bags designed for daily waste disposal.  

At the Business Women Expo 2023, Jayesh Ranjan unveiled the Hyderabad Chapter of the Women Entrepreneurs Club, WEDO.

A Pan-Indian accelerator focused on empowering businesswomen, Women Entrepreneurship Development Organization (WEDO), based in Chennai, has expanded its reach to Telangana by launching a local chapter. The local team was introduced to Jayesh Ranjan during this announcement.

During the expo, Nawab Mir Nasir Ali Khan, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kazakhstan, presented the Visionary Women Awards to several accomplished women from various parts of India, in the presence of businesswomen from across the country.

At the event, the fourth edition of TiE Women 2023 was launched and graced by Ms. Jennifer Larson, Consul General of the U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad, and Ms. Shobana Kamineni, Executive Vice Chairperson of Apollo Hospitals.

During the event, ten women entrepreneurs, each representing a unique industry, presented their ideas to investors. The ten start-ups owned by women who pitched their ideas were MeMeraki.com, Medbuzz, Triolt Energy Pvt Ltd, Ek Katha Clothing Pvt. Ltd, Comet Labs IT Solutions, Sortizy, PayAid, Second Innings House, Pinaka Innovation Pvt. Ltd, and Rorosaur Foodtech Pvt. Ltd. Additionally, TiE Hyderabad hosted the second season of TiE Investor Connect – Women Special Edition on this occasion.

The expo was visited by a group of other notable individuals including Dr. KBRS Visarda, Principal Scientist at IIM; Ms. Deepthi Ravula, CEO of We Hub; Dr. Shilpi Reddy of KIMS Hospital; Mr. M. Srinivas Rao from the Ministry of MSME, Government of India; Ms. Kadambari Umapathy, Founder of WeDo; Mr. Anil Agarwal, President of FTCCI; and Mr. Krishna Yedula, Secretary General of SCSC.
