Edtech startup Bodhi AI secures $200,000 in funding from The Marwari Angels, Founders Angel Network, others


Bodhi AI, an edtech startup located in Hyderabad, has secured $200K from The Marwari Angels (MAAN), Founders Angel Network (FAN), JIIF Shark Angels (JSA), UIncept, Ivy Growth, and POD. This round was also attended by angel investors Harsh Pokharna and Bhola Meena.

The capital would be utilized to assist teachers in expanding their student base and increasing their online income. 

Prashant Pandey and Piyush Agarwal founded Bodhi AI, which links instructors and students digitally and provides features such as in-person question clearing and tech solutions for teachers and educational establishments.

It also enables professors to offer courses and the company claims to have a million users. Skoolstream, a Kota-based edtech business, was bought by the Jaipur-based company in March 2022. The startup competes with Teachmint, which raised $78 million, and Classplus, which raised $80 million at a valuation of roughly $600 million.

Despite the setback of edtech startup funding, acquisitions and funding continued. UpGrad has emerged as a leading buyer in edtech mergers and acquisitions. This year, the company bought seven companies, followed by PhyiscsWallah’s three acquisitions and Unacademy’s acquisition of Gate Academy for an unknown price.
