Batterytech startup E-TRNL Energy secures Rs 7.5 cr in funding led Speciale Invest

 e-TRNL Energy, a batterytech startup announced on Monday that it has raised Rs 7.5 crore in pre-seed round of funding led by Speciale Invest, a deep-tech venture capital firm. Other investors also participated in the round include Micelio Mobility, a clean mobility fund, and CIIE.

e-TRNL Energy intends to use this investment to speed up the product cycle and shorten the deadlines for delivering the products to its customers. The company has developed advanced battery technology that is safe, capable of withstanding the harsh conditions of electric mobility, particularly in the Indian climate, while still providing value through fast charging and cost-efficiency, the company said in a media release.

Apoorv Shaligram, co-founder of e-TRNL Energy said: “Any true EV revolution cannot revolve around import dependency of the most critical component of EVs, the battery. At e-TRNL Energy, we innovate technologies from the ground up to unlock the true potential of batteries and enable the most advanced cell manufacturing. We are pleased to have worked with our investors to realize the future of batteries and help build global supply chains from India.”

“We have developed a technology platform that solves the fundamental challenges of fast charging without compromising on energy density, durability and safety. Our innovation is chemistry and application independent, which means it can be used in all battery applications,” said Uttam Kumar Sen, co-founder of e-TRNL Energy.

Founded in 2021 by two IITians, Apoorv Shaligram, a graduate of IIT Roorkee and Michigan State University, and Uttam Kumar Sen, a graduate of IIT Bombay with a PhD in High Energy Density Batteries, e-TRNL Energy relies on a combined 27 years of research experience to bring about this breakthrough battery technology. A report said the mission of the startup is to make a transition of electric vehicles in India by 100%.
