Anant Maheshwari, President of Microsoft India, named Nasscom Chairperson

On Tuesday, Nasscom, the IT industry body, appointed Anant Maheshwari, Microsoft India‘s president, as its chairperson for 2023-24. Maheshwari, who previously served as Nasscom’s vice-chairperson, takes over from Krishnan Ramanujam, the president of business and technology services at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). Nasscom also appointed Rajesh Nambiar, chairman and managing director of Cognizant India, as its vice-chairperson for 2023-24.

Anant Maheshwari, the president of Microsoft India and newly-appointed Chairperson of Nasscom, expressed his honor and humility to support the Nasscom Executive Council in a critical time for India’s tech industry. He also expressed his eagerness to collaborate with all stakeholders to further establish India as a reliable technology partner for the global community.

Nasscom unveils new Executive Council to steer India’s tech sector amidst macroeconomic challenges and dim growth prospects for the current fiscal. The leadership, including newly appointed Chairperson Anant Maheshwari and Vice-Chairperson Rajesh Nambiar, along with President Debjani Ghosh, will lead the industry in pursuing its goals to become a $500 billion industry by 2030. As of now, the industry is valued at $245 billion.
