Amagi to acquire Tellyo’s business in definitive agreement

Amagi has entered a definitive agreement to acquire Tellyo’s business, a move set to bolster its cloud-based SaaS technology for broadcast and connected TV.

The acquisition aims to enhance Amagi’s video toolset, particularly in the realms of live sports and news broadcasts. This strategic step also signals Amagi’s focus on business expansion in Eastern Europe.

Tellyo, known for its real-time live cloud remote production, clipping/editing, and social sharing platform, will contribute to elevating Amagi’s capabilities in live video streaming and editing for a global customer base.

Tellyo’s expertise empowers media and content teams to produce compelling live video content streamed to various digital and social media destinations. Through its Stream Studio, Tellyo facilitates the creation and simultaneous publishing of branded video clips, highlights, and compilations. The platform enables real-time web conferences, events, and presentations, allowing external contributors and commentators to join from multiple devices.

Tellyo’s solutions are geared towards amplifying reach and engagement across social media for athletes, actors, sponsors, ambassadors, and influencers.

Expressing enthusiasm about the acquisition, Amagi’s Co-Founder & CEO, Baskar Subramanian stated, “We are excited about the opportunities this acquisition presents for Amagi. Tellyo brings a wealth of expertise, a strong team, and innovative products that align perfectly with our strategic vision of being a frontrunner in the cloud-based live broadcast technology space. Together, we will not only enrich Amagi’s product offerings, but also bring investments in the Eastern European region and create new possibilities for local talent and global customers.”
