Eruvaka, the aquatech startup has been disbanded by venture capital firm Omnivore, by selling its stakes to Nutreco of the Netherlands. As a result, Nutreco now owns a sizable portion in the startup. The agreement will make it possible for Nutreco’s aquaculture company Skretting to provide software, tools, and monitoring services to shrimp producers all over the world.

Mark Kahn, managing partner at Omnivore stated, “Eruvaka, which offers cutting-edge agritech solutions to aquaculture farmers around the world, is a fantastic example of Make in India. The Indian agritech ecosystem has now had its first significant departure with Nutreco’s acquisition of Eruvaka, and many more will occur in the upcoming years.”

Nutreco was founded in 1994 and provides animal nutrition and aqua feed solutions all over the world. Skretting, for aqua feed, and Trouw Nutrition, for animal nutrition, are two of its brands.

Sreeram Raavi, Eruvaka’s founder said, “I am incredibly grateful to my amazing Vijayawada team, who never gave up on the goal of making Eruvaka a world leader in precision aquaculture technology and who believed in the vision. We appreciate Omnivore’s confidence in us. I am confident that Eruvaka will grow under Nutreco’s guidance as well.”

Eruvaka, a company founded in 2013 by Sreeram Raavi, creates sensors, linked devices, and mobile-based applications for shrimp farmers that can help boost productivity while lowering crop risk. Farmers may monitor their crops and automate monotonous tasks on their fields after incorporating this equipment.
