Animesh Das Takes the Helm as Acko General Insurance CEO, Replacing Sanjeev Srinivasan

ACKO General Insurance, headquartered in Bengaluru, has announced changes in its leadership structure. Sanjeev Srinivasan has been elevated to a board role, while Animesh Das is set to succeed him as the CEO, pending regulatory approval. “Sanjeev’s wealth of experience contributed to a lot of firsts for ACKO,” said Varun Dua, CEO of ACKO Technologies, the parent company. 

Animesh Das, currently serving as the chief underwriting officer, brings over ten years of experience in the insurance sector to his new role. He has expertise in product design, pricing, market strategy, and risk management. Das holds a BTech from IIT Kharagpur and began his career with ICICI Lombard in product strategy before joining Coverfox to launch the auto category.

Commenting on the leadership transition, Varun Dua expressed confidence in Animesh’s capabilities: “Animesh has been a catalyst in the overall ACKO’s growth story.” Dua also praised Sanjeev’s contributions, stating, “his wealth of experience contributed to a lot of firsts for ACKO.”

Under Animesh’s leadership, ACKO General Insurance aims to sustain its growth momentum and drive the auto insurance business towards profitability. These leadership changes reflect ACKO’s commitment to nurturing a culture of growth and excellence within its teams.

The company’s Gross Written Premium (GWP) for April-January FY24 witnessed a significant year-on-year increase of 26.54%, reaching Rs 1541.55 crore.
