India Gets Its Sixth Medal As Bajrang Punia Locks On Bronze

India gets its sixth medal as Bajrang Punia locks on Bronze . Bajrang Punia had been India’s favourite for winning a medal, and now he has done it ! Well it’s not a Gold, but a Bronze is also no less. He was to fight against Daulet Niyazbekov of Kazakhstan,  in the men’s freestyle 65kg bronze medal match. He started his bout on Frida, but sadly couldn’t qualify for the Semi finale. India was pining for him, after Vinesh Phigat had to take her leave. This is India’s second medal in wrestling at Tokyo olympics 2020, previously Ravi Kumar Dahiya had bagged a Silver.

After what seemed to be a neck to neck fight, Punia won by a neat 8-0 and sealed for himself a Bronze. As soon as the game ended,  Twitter erupted, because Punia’s win makes it 6 medals, and it equalises with India; best ever tally at London olympics ! Congratulations messages flew in from all corners of the country as the World Number 2 won it !
