Social Commerce Platform Meesho introduces ESOP Plan for all employees

The online commerce platform Meesho recently announced an “ESOP for all” programme under the name MeeSOP. The scheme allows all employees regardless of their seniority or tenure at the company to convert 25% of their CTC (Cost to Company) limited to Rs 50,000 into ESOP.

The company claims that the ESOPs thus granted would be more than 100% of the CTC relinquished by the employees.

Unlike other ESOP plans, the MeeSOP is completely inclusive and offer every employee regardless of their seniority to avail benefits from the rapid growth of the platform while also ensuring that the entire amounted is vested by the end of the year. This would allow the employees both control as well as opportunities to cash in on the frequent ESOP buybacks of the startup.
