Pinterest launches new ad features to drive shopping


Pinterest announced the launch of new buying tools for Pinners and Advertisers, Pinterest is launching ads alongside visual search results, as well as more places to shop, and with new conversion information, advertisers can easily see the impact of  their paid and organic Pinterest content. They are also developing the purchasing tools for Pinners in the UK, bringing buying inspiration to a new market. 

“This year, we expect holiday shopping to be different, with mobile commerce poised to reach new heights as people find treats at home. This will take us one step closer to our goal of making every,” the company said. 

According to the company, the percentage of users visiting places to shop on Pinterest increased by more than 50% in the first half of 2020.  New monetized shopping experiences and conversion analytics 

 As more people use Pinterest to buy and research ideas and products from brands and retailers, Pinterest is integrating ads into more shopping experiences to deliver relevant content where it is welcomed by buyers, in the US and UK. They introduced more places for merchants to promote Pins and show ads where Pinners prefer to shop, including visual search results. “4,444 retailers were eager to distribute their catalog content as part of these new Pinner experiences. Three of our busiest and most visible places to buy The Lens search in Pins, the Buy in Search tab, and Purchases on Pins (coming soon) may contain ads,” company added.

With new insights into US conversions, verified Pinterest sellers and Shopify retailers can easily see the impact of their paid and organic Pinterest content on their site visits and payments, making their purchase efforts not only impactful, but measurable . They can analyze performance, view the highest-converting Pins, and convert their top-performing Organic Pins into ads. Plus, they can track their activity funnel and see how Pinterest audiences have converted along the path to purchase, from page visitors, to cart users, to buyers.

With the launch of these features in the UK, UK pinners will be able to shop at a home or fashion pin, buy their search results, of their boards, and buy the inspiration they see in the real world through Lens camera visual search. 

They can also draw inspiration from Shopping projectors, buyable content selected by experts and organized with publishers and creators. We’re kicking off the experiment with editors, including Stylist, who  curated local products as part of the Pinterest x Stylist store, and designers like The Anna Edit, who compiled their dream product wish list for minimalist interior design must-haves.
