EKKI makes investment in Bangalore-based agritech startup Kissan Pro


EKKI, pump and water technology maker, announced its investment in Kissan Pro, a Bengaluru-based AgTech startup that offers a plant management platform. Financial details were not disclosed.

Kissan Pro Agro Technology is an agritech platform and complete stack solution for farmers founded in 2020 by IIT and IIM alumni with the aim of empowering farmers through technology, design and data science.

Kissan Pro works on a phygital model and develops and promotes the effective use of the most advanced technology. Kissan Pro also helps in every cluster where farmers can visit and get the support they need. The three core objectives of Kissan Pro: increase farmer productivity per hectare, reduce costs per hectare and improve price per kg realization.

Some of the services offered by the Kissan Pro platform include Yield Forecasting, Crop Health Monitoring, Soil Moisture Monitoring, Irrigation Automation, Irrigation Planning, Crop Advisory, 3D Soil Moisture Reports and water and energy consumption.
The company is also active in anomaly and canopy monitoring, frost forecasting and climate monitoring within the field. The platform can bring greater profitability, greater precision in irrigation and fertigation, lower consumption of water and electricity, and less labor.

Other investors in Kissan Pro include Manu Midha from Innovacer, White Hill Ventures and Amit Tripathy from OYO, based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

According to Ravindra Dasoundhi, Co-Founder and CEO of Kissan Pro, the company is very excited to partner with EKKI Group, a company that has made a huge impact on farmers’ lives for 40 years with its innovative water solutions.

“With their expertise and collaboration we can create a massive impact at the grass root level,” he added.
Kissan Pro currently advises more than 25,000 farmers and provides supplies and marketing services to approximately 7,000 farmers in Ranchi, Hazaribagh and Bokaro districts, Ravindra Dasoundhi said.
