A food-tech startup On2Cook receives Rs 17 crore in initial investment at a valuation of Rs 100 crore

On2Cook, an Ahmedabad-based cooking gadget maker, has announced a Rs 17 crore ($2 million) funding round led by Dr. Mayur Desai, who invested Rs 16 crore in the firm, and Nirbhay Gandhi, who contributed Rs 1 crore. Sanandan Sudhir founded On2Cook in 2022 as a cooking equipment that combines induction or flame and microwaves to make the process more efficient. The device promises to save up to 70% time and 50% energy in both household and commercial kitchens. The AI-powered and voice-enabled intelligent device made its debut at Shark Tank India‘s grand finale. It holds patents in India, the United States, and the United Kingdom. As per Sanandan Sudhir, the company’s creator and CEO, On2Cook’s gadget combines cooking technology with induction or flame acting on the food from the outside and microwaves from the inside.

“Engineered to disrupt the food industry, the product is designed to help both domestic, as well as commercial kitchens, save up to 70% on time and 50% on energy. Additionally, the food cooked retains water-soluble nutrients while preserving color, texture, and consistency. After being granted patents across India, US, and UK, our invention stands to create a new product category in the kitchen space,” Sudhir said.

“There hasn’t been a technological shift in the cooking appliances space in the post-industrial world for decades, if not centuries. On2Cook brings cooking into the 21st century. We are happy to join forces with Sanandan in his tryst to usher in a landmark transition in an industry, and even in the lifestyle of everyone,” said Shaival Desai, of the Desai family office.

On2Cook has received several important honors throughout the world, including the iF Design Award, the British Invention Show – Diamond Award for outstanding International Invention, and the title of Most Celebrated Invention at CES, Las Vegas 2022.

The AI-powered, voice-enabled, and intelligent device first made an impression on Shark Tank India’s grand finale. The gadget has been tested with over 100 chefs and culinary professionals from across the world.
