Facebook enables new messaging, business tools for brands


Facebook enabled several new features for businesses to find and communicate with their customers and manage those communications. The new features are specifically focused on personalized messaging, improve business discovery, and provide new management options to simplify the business activity and reach. Through this Facebook aims to become an online shopping destination and these are part of Facebook’s broader business push, which includes Facebook Shops.

Facebook will be launching new click-to-message ad options, which will facilitate the user to choose all the platforms where they are available to chat, and Facebook will default to the chat applications based on where a conversation is most likely to happen which will expand the capacity to engage with customers in different messaging apps. 

Facebook said, “For many small businesses, Instagram is the virtual storefront for customers to discover brands, and WhatsApp is the platform to discuss products, answer questions, and close sales.” In that case, businesses can now add a WhatsApp click to chat button to their profile on Instagram.

File Manager, a new feature for Facebook Business Suite, lets businesses easily create, manage and post content. The company will also test the ability for businesses to manage emails through their inbox on the platform and send remarketing emails via Facebook Business Suite.

Facebook will soon enable features that will help businesses with customer acquisition and lead generation.

The new feature come a day after WhatsApp began testing a new feature, to let users find shops and services through a directory in the app for the first time as a part of an effort to boost e-commerce service.
