Home construction marketplace Kolo raises $4 Mn led by RTP Global

Kolo has recently raised funding of $4 million in a seed funding round to expand its home construction marketplace. Many investors like VC firm, RTP Global and the existing investor Better Capital also participated in the round. The new funds will be utilized to expand the company’s footprint, recruit talent and enhance its product offerings also taking into account a content-recommendation engine, community offerings and digital portfolio as well as tools. 

Kolo was founded in 2020 by Jery Althaf, Pranav Garg, Aayush Sharda and Vivek Mittal who were the former Gojek team members. Kolo is a content community platform for homeowners, architects, interior designers, construction service professionals and building material providers. Kolo’s app facilitates homeowners in finding interior designs and also avail services of interior designers, architects and CAD experts and other home construction workers like carpenters and painters. The app also aids professionals in building their digital portfolio, creating their work videos along with the photos and expertise with homeowners.

Jery Altaf said that the consumers want to be involved in their renovation projects provided the amount of money they spend and also the influence of media in driving transaction decisions. The company claims to have observed a 10X growth since the last fundraising and has also expanded to other Indian states like Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. The company is looking forward to disrupting the home construction space through technology and also becoming a one-stop solution for homeowners, service professionals and building material suppliers. 

The startup raised $550 K in a pre-seed funding round led by Better Capital and also witnessed the participation of Singularity Ventures along with other angel investors like Aldi Haryopratomo, Aakash from Jiva.ag, Rajesh Sawhney from GSF and many others. In the home construction marketplace, Kolo competes with Interazzo, Homelane, Spaceler and Hidecor which are the other prominent companies.
