eSports Major NODWIN Gaming acquires D2C Brand Planet Superheroes

The eSports Major Nazara Technologies wholly owned subsidiary NODWIN Gaming recently announced that it has acquired 100% stake in the superheroes merchandising platform Planet Superheroes for a consideration of INR 4.90 crores.

The board of directors of Nazara Technologies have approved the acquisition of 27,987 equity shares of INR 10 each of Planet Superheroes, thus making the D2C brand a wholly owned subsidiary of NODWIN and a subsidiary of Nazara.

The recent acquisition would allow NODWIN Gaming to offer iconic global merchandise to numerous young individuals who are engaged with the eSports major via its significantly popular IPs.

Expressing his views upon the recent acquisition, the founder and MD of NODWIN Gaming, Akshat Rathee said, “The acquisition of Planet Superheroes will allow us to have another strategic touchpoint with fans that celebrates a common love for all things gaming, pop culture and esports. We believe in increasing the existing offering of global brands to include mega tournaments, Games and even the popular talent and players like Mortal, Samay Raina, Tanmay, Ankit Panth and others.”.

Furthermore, the startup has also revealed its plans to expand on the current offerings of Planet Superheroes by looking forward to more strategic partnerships with global brands like KRAFTON and Riot Games to create relevant and local merchandise of games like BGMI, PUBG and others.
