DPIIT Invites Applications for Fourth Edition of National Startup Awards

The Indian government has launched the fourth edition of the National Startup Awards, aiming to recognize and reward innovative startups from across the country. The awards, which are part of the Vision India @2047 initiative, will focus on innovation in 20 different categories, including emerging technologies, aerospace, and retail. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) will be accepting applications from April 1 to May 31, and the winners in each category will receive a cash prize of Rs 10 lakh.

The National Startup Awards initiative, launched in 2020, aims to celebrate startups and enablers in the ecosystem that have developed innovative products and demonstrated measurable social impact. In the past three years, the initiative has seen participation from over 6,400 startups, with more than 450 startups recognized as winners and finalists.

The DPIIT has said that winners and finalists of the National Startup Awards will receive exclusive government support, including mentorship, investor and government connections, corporate and unicorn connects, and international market access. The government’s aim is to boost the startup ecosystem in the country and create a conducive environment for startups to grow and succeed.

India has been witnessing a surge in startups in recent years, and the government has been taking several measures to promote and support them. The National Startup Awards initiative is one such step in this direction, aimed at recognizing and rewarding the country’s most innovative and impactful startups.
