Companies including Amazon, Google, Oppo and Facebook Providing Necessities to Counter COVID-19 in India


It was reported that various companies including Amazon, Google, Facebook, Oppo and Vivo have been making prominent and noteworthy efforts to counter the extreme condition faced by India provided the given pandemic COVID-19. Their help comes in the form of donation of oxygenators, breathing machines, and ventilators to fight from COVID-19.

Amazon is working closely with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in order to ensure delivery of 100 ventilators and fund 100 units of the Medtronic (MT) device to India. These deliveries are expected within two weeks’ time.

In an online post Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that they are working with UNIaCEF and giving $10 million to emergency response efforts. While, Apple CEO Tim Cook has also extended his share of help as well as expressing his heartfelt pain for the condition he tweeted , ‘Apple will be donating to support and relief efforts on the ground’.

While Google Ceo Sunder Pichai had already expressed his grief over the aggravated situation of coronavirus in India, the company has raised Rs 135 crore in funding to GiveIndia and UNICEF etc.

Oppo the Chinese based smartphone company has also come forth and promised to deliver 1,000 oxygenators and 500 breathing machines worth Rs 4.3 crore to the Indian Red Cross Society and the Uttar Pradesh government as donation. Vivo, another prominent Chinese smartphone company will donate Rs 2 crore to aid COVID-19 relief efforts and help acquire oxygen concentrators.
