Working of ChatGPT

ChatGPT uses the Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF), using the same methods as InstructGPT, but with slight differences in the data collection setup. The company trained an initial model using supervised fine-tuning: human AI trainers provided conversations in which they played both sides—the user and an AI assistant.

It answers the question with the help of a large amount of data available over the internet. Its limitations is it cannot predict the future version of the question and cannot answer it effectively.

Limitations:-

ChatGPT may write nonsensical answers sometimes that do not make any sense in regard to the query presented before it. This is because of the limited knowledge base of 2021 and availability of data over the internet i.e it is not aware of any event that happened after 2021.

Moreover you may have to rephrase the question again and again as it is sensitive to tweaks and input phrasing. For example, if given a particular question phrasing, the model can claim to not know the answer, but when given a slight rephrase it may answer correctly.

There is also a slight difference in understanding of questions as it may ask clarifying questions from the user when they ask ambiguous query, instead current models usually Guess what the user intended to ask.

With its launching on November 30, it has already crossed one million user’s, according to OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. It has now become a trending and hot topic and ChatGPT and OpenAI are the most searched one’s over the internet. The software is currently free but they may charge and monetize it in the due course, the CEO added.

It is evident from the current trends that yes ChatGPT may mark the beginning of the AI revolution in the world and soon many more chatbots would be available for the human assistance that may talk, write and have an element of the human intellect.
