Antler Joins $3.5M Seed Round for Singapore’s Rolo Robotics Revolutionizing Food Service

Singapore-based startup Rolo Robotics, which is pioneering fully autonomous micro-kitchen solutions powered by robotics and AI, has successfully closed a $3.5 million seed funding round. The round was led by BEENEXT and featured participation from Antler, Blueprint Ventures, TIS Japan, Seedstars, A2D Ventures, SUTD Ventures, and Lotus One Investment, along with strategic angel investors Valentin Schillo and Gilbert Rodrigues.

Founded in 2023 by industry veterans Ravi Nahappan and Tushar Mohan, Rolo Robotics aims to address the growing challenges faced by food and beverage operators globally, including rising labor costs, high turnover, and increasing operational complexity. The startup’s flagship offering, MAYA 3.0, is the world’s first autonomous fast-food kiosk capable of preparing made-to-order meals with industrial-grade accuracy without human staff.

MAYA 3.0 combines sophisticated robotic arms, AI-driven ChefOS software, and multi-device coordination to prepare, package, and serve a variety of foods such as fried chicken, rice bowls, noodles, and pastries within a compact footprint requiring minimal infrastructure. Deployed in locations like university campuses, hospitals, transit hubs, and urban centers, the solution promises 24/7 reliable operation, lower operating costs, and enhanced food quality and safety.

Rolo Robotics operates on both B2B and B2C models – offering kiosks for purchase or lease to enterprise partners and operating branded outlets like GrubEatz directly or via franchisees. The technology integrates with major food delivery platforms such as Grab, Foodpanda, and Deliveroo, driving digital order flows and enhancing customer reach.

The $3.5 million seed injection will accelerate product development of Maya 3.0, expand pilot programs in Singapore and upcoming rollout plans in Australia, enhance integrated ecosystem partnerships ranging from ingredient suppliers to kitchen equipment manufacturers, and broaden technology capabilities including AI-based customization and analytics.

Ravi Nahappan, co-founder of Rolo Robotics, stated, “This funding round backed by visionary investors including Antler is a strong endorsement of our vision of revolutionizing food services worldwide through human-robot collaboration, affordable meals, and consistent quality. We are excited to scale swiftly and bring this innovative technology to more markets.”

The seed round’s success underscores growing investor confidence in robotics and AI-driven automation as critical solutions to labor shortages and sustainability challenges in the global food sector.

In conclusion, Antler’s participation in Rolo Robotics’ $3.5 million seed round enhances the startup’s ability to scale its disruptive autonomous kitchen technology, positioning it at the forefront of transforming the future of food service in Asia-Pacific and beyond.
