DOD – Doctors On Duty, a health-tech company focused on making healthcare more accessible through technology, showcased its Health Kiosk at a pharma exhibition held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The kiosk received appreciation from Dr. Irfan Ansari, Hon’ble Minister, Department of Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand, during his visit to the DOD stall.
During the interaction, Dr. Ansari explored the technology behind the kiosk and its potential to make basic health assessments more accessible by bringing healthcare closer to people in everyday spaces. Smt. Neha Arora, IAS, Special Secretary, Department of Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand, was also present during the interaction.
The DOD team discussed the broader vision of using technology to make preventive healthcare more convenient, accessible and integrated into people’s everyday lives.
Bringing Healthcare Closer to Everyday Spaces
DOD’s Health Kiosk is designed to provide technology-enabled health assessments in a convenient and accessible format. By enabling users to undertake preliminary health checks and access digital healthcare support, the kiosk has the potential to reduce the need to visit a healthcare facility for every basic assessment. The model can be particularly relevant for locations such as workplaces, educational institutions, residential communities, public spaces and other high-footfall areas where people can access basic health services as part of their everyday routine. Beyond accessibility,
wider deployment of such kiosks could also create local employment opportunities through kiosk operations, support services and healthcare facilitation, while contributing to a larger ecosystem of technology-enabled preventive healthcare.
Recognition from the Health Sector
The appreciation from the Jharkhand Health Minister marks an important moment for DOD as it continues to explore ways of combining healthcare expertise with technology. For a health-tech company working towards improving healthcare accessibility, recognition from senior representatives of the state’s health administration provides meaningful validation of the relevance and potential of technology-driven healthcare solutions. Following the interaction, DOD was invited to continue discussions in Ranchi and explore potential opportunities in the state. While no formal partnership has been announced at this stage, the interaction opens the possibility for further conversations around healthcare accessibility, technology adoption and potential employment opportunities.
“It was encouraging to see the interest and appreciation for our Health Kiosk from the Hon’ble Health Minister. Our aim has always been to use technology to make healthcare more accessible and bring preventive health assessments closer to people. We look forward to continuing the conversation and exploring how solutions like these can contribute to better healthcare access and create opportunities at the local level.” — Dr. Shrey Srivastava Founder, DOD – Doctors On Duty
Looking Ahead – DOD aims to continue developing and deploying technology-led healthcare solutions that make healthcare more accessible, convenient and preventive in nature. The Health Kiosk represents one such effort to take basic health assessments beyond traditional healthcare settings and into spaces where people already live, work and spend time. The interaction at Bharat Mandapam and the interest expressed by the Jharkhand Health Minister further encourage DOD to explore how
such solutions can be adapted for wider use across different communities and geographies. As healthcare increasingly moves towards prevention, accessibility and technology-enabled delivery, DOD sees solutions such as Health Kiosks as an opportunity to bring these elements together while creating new avenues for healthcare access and employment.
