Bengaluru-based medtech startup HRS Navigation has successfully closed a $5 million Pre-Series A funding round, backed by a consortium of investors including GVFL, Physis Capital, Sathguru Catalysers, India EXIM Bank, and KITVEN. This capital infusion marks a significant milestone, fueling HRS Navigation’s ambitious plans for product innovation, scaling manufacturing, and expanding into international markets.
Founded by Arpit and Shweta Paliwal, HRS Navigation specializes in designing and manufacturing advanced image-guided surgical navigation systems tailored for complex cranial, spine, and ENT procedures. The company’s flagship product, easyNav™, is India’s first surgical navigation platform that integrates seamlessly with existing operating room infrastructure, enabling surgeons to perform procedures with enhanced precision, reduced risk, and improved patient outcomes. easyNav has already been used in over 20,000 surgeries, highlighting its growing acceptance among hospitals across India.
“Our mission is to make advanced surgical navigation accessible to every hospital and surgeon, ensuring patients across India and beyond benefit from precision surgery,” said Arpit Paliwal, Founder and Director of HRS Navigation. He emphasized that the fresh funding would accelerate product innovation and enable the company to strengthen its global footprint while showcasing India’s capability in medtech innovation.
The investment round underscores growing investor confidence in India’s medtech sector and the potential for domestically developed solutions to compete globally. Mihir Joshi, Managing Director at GVFL, remarked, “HRS Navigation exemplifies deep-tech, impact-driven innovation shaping Indian medtech’s future. By building globally competitive navigation platforms, HRS is positioning India as a reliable exporter of high-end surgical technologies.”
Surgical navigation technology serves as a critical enabler in modern healthcare, providing real-time guidance during operations. This helps surgeons place implants accurately and target anatomical structures precisely, leading to more controlled surgeries and better patient safety. HRS Navigation’s scalable, cost-effective solution makes this cutting-edge technology accessible across hospital sizes, ensuring broader adoption.
Vijayaraghavan Kannan, Partner at Sathguru Catalysers, highlighted the potential impact beyond India, stating, “The relevance of the HRS platform in improving health outcomes extends to low- and middle-income countries where access to advanced surgical technology remains limited.”
The startup plans to deploy the capital to scale manufacturing capabilities, accelerate development of next-generation navigation systems with enhanced features, and expand into key overseas markets. Recent partnerships and pilot programs in Southeast Asia and the Middle East underscore HRS Navigation’s global ambitions.
The Pre-Series A funding was advised exclusively by MidasCap, which helped structure the round and connect HRS Navigation with strategic investors aligned with the company’s vision.
Overall, HRS Navigation’s latest funding round represents a major step forward for India’s medtech innovation ecosystem, reflecting the country’s evolution as a hub for high-impact deep-tech startups driving healthcare transformation worldwide.
