Zepto Enters Online Pharmacy Space with 10-Minute Medicine Delivery Service

Quick-commerce platform Zepto has forayed into the online pharmacy segment with the launch of Zepto Pharmacy, a service that promises to deliver medicines to customers within 10 minutes. Announced by co-founders Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra, the move marks the company’s latest step in diversifying its ultra-fast delivery offerings beyond groceries and daily essentials.

The service is currently live in select locations across Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. According to Palicha, the rollout follows an intensive year-long operational refinement process to ensure quality and reliability before public launch.

“Today, we’re formally announcing the launch of Zepto Pharmacy – medicines delivered in 10 minutes,” Palicha stated. He added that while the launch opens significant growth potential, the focus will remain on maintaining high operational standards rather than an aggressive nationwide rollout.

With this entry, Zepto steps into direct competition with established players in India’s online pharmacy market, including Tata 1MG, PharmEasy, Apollo Pharmacy, and Wellness Forever. The strategic timing could prove advantageous, as the Indian online pharmacy market—valued at $3.18 billion in 2024 is projected to grow to $12.71 billion by 2033, according to market research firm IMARC. This growth will be driven by rising healthcare awareness, smartphone adoption, and the convenience of online ordering.

Industry analysts believe Zepto’s brand recognition and operational expertise in quick commerce could give it a strong foothold in this sector.

“If executed well, this service can seriously improve the lives of millions of customers across the country,” Palicha said, underlining Zepto’s vision of blending healthcare accessibility with the speed and efficiency that has defined its platform.

While a timeline for expansion to additional cities has not been revealed, Zepto confirmed its focus will be on refining delivery infrastructure, ensuring medicine authenticity, and adhering to healthcare regulations.
