KiranaPro Secures Pre-Seed Funding to Revolutionize Kirana Stores into Dark Stores

KiranaPro, a startup focused on transforming local kirana stores into high-speed fulfillment centers, has raised an undisclosed amount in pre-seed funding. The funding round saw participation from notable angel investors, including Yatish Talvadia, co-founder of MilkBasket, and Vikas Taneja, senior partner at Boston Consulting Group. Early-stage venture firms like TurboStart, Unpopular Ventures, Blume Founders Fund, and Snow Leopard Ventures also joined the round.

The startup plans to utilize the funds to scale its operational teams, enhance ONDC-enabled technology infrastructure, and launch a consumer app to support expansion into new cities.

“With this funding, we are building the future of quick commerce that champions local businesses,” said Deepak Ravindran, co-founder and CEO of KiranaPro. “India’s kirana stores have served as the backbone of our retail economy for decades. By combining their strengths with innovative technology, we’re enabling them to compete with the biggest e-commerce players while retaining their unique trust and reliability.”

KiranaPro’s innovative business model transforms kirana stores and supermarkets into ultra-fast delivery hubs, leveraging their proximity to consumers for efficient 10-minute deliveries. Store owners have the flexibility to choose between daily rates or per-lead fees, ensuring profitability while meeting consumer demand for convenience shopping.

To further enhance operations, the company has introduced dedicated counters in supermarkets designed specifically for processing 10-minute deliveries. These counters streamline operations and support the growing demand for ultra-fast delivery services.
