Chennai-based matchmaking service provider Matrimony.com has ventured into the domestic job market with the launch of ManyJobs.com, a new vertical aimed at addressing the employment needs of frontline and entry-level job seekers. The platform was formally unveiled at an event in Chennai by Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Industries, TRB Rajaa.
After over two decades of providing matrimony services, Matrimony.com’s new initiative marks its expansion into a completely new domain. ManyJobs.com is designed to cater to the grey collar job sector, which includes industries such as customer service, sales, retail, and hospitality. “For the very first time, after almost two decades being in matrimony services, we are launching a complete job portal—ManyJobs.com, a different vertical altogether. This will be the first India’s grey collar job portal for job seekers,” said Matrimony.com CEO Murugavel Janakiraman during the launch event.
Targeting Tamil Nadu’s Grey Collar Job Market
ManyJobs.com, initially available in Tamil and English, is focused on addressing the high demand for employees in the grey collar job segment. “This is the unique aspect of this portal. We want to focus on the grey collar job sector as there is huge demand for employees. This is an exclusive platform for frontline and entry-level job seekers in Tamil Nadu,” said Janakiraman.
Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Industries, TRB Rajaa, who officially launched the portal, lauded the initiative. “I congratulate ManyJobs.com for launching this initiative. I wish ManyJobs.com will create many, many jobs in Tamil Nadu. It is good to launch the service in the State as Tamil Nadu is the investment capital of India and we will create many more jobs here,” he said.
Key Features and Future Plans
Highlighting the features of ManyJobs.com, Janakiraman said the platform allows job seekers to search for verified job listings in their preferred cities. “All the jobs posted are 100 per cent verified to maintain authenticity, and a job seeker can connect with an HR person (of ManyJobs.com) directly for any assistance,” he said.
The service is free for job seekers, with plans to monetize the platform through charges for companies utilizing it to recruit employees. Janakiraman revealed ambitious plans for the platform’s growth. “Within the six months of the launch we are aiming for 1 million job seekers. We are launching this service in TN. After attaining success, we are planning to launch it across India,” he said.
Collaboration with Tamil Nadu Government
Recognizing Tamil Nadu’s diversified industrial base and robust infrastructure as key drivers for its foray into the job market, Matrimony.com is also exploring partnerships with the Tamil Nadu government. The collaboration aims to offer training programs for freshers to enhance their employability skills.
With the launch of ManyJobs.com, Matrimony.com is set to carve a niche in the employment space while contributing to the economic growth of Tamil Nadu and beyond.
