Anuj Rathi to Lead Cleartrip as CEO Amid Major Executive Reshuffle at Flipkart

Anuj Rathi, currently Chief of Product at Jupiter Money, is set to join Flipkart’s travel platform, Cleartrip, as the new CEO. This marks Rathi’s second tenure at the ecommerce giant. The appointment, first reported by The Arc.

Rathi previously worked at Flipkart as a product manager and served as Senior Vice President of Revenue and Growth at Swiggy before his role at Jupiter Money. His transition to Cleartrip follows his intention to leave the fintech firm six months after joining, as previously reported by YourStory.

Rathi succeeds Ayyappan Rajagopal, who announced his departure from Cleartrip on LinkedIn on February 22. Rajagopal, who took on the CEO role in October 2021, had a distinguished 11-year career at Flipkart and its fashion vertical, Myntra.

This leadership change comes amid a broader executive reshuffle at Flipkart as the company prepares for a proposed IPO. The reshuffle has seen the hiring of several top-level executives while others are being replaced. In a related announcement on Monday, Flipkart promoted Sandeep Karwa to Vice President of Flipkart Ads. Karwa, who has been with the company for 12 years, will now oversee the ecommerce giant’s advertising division.

Additionally, two key executives, Prabh Simran Singh and Sankalp Mehrotra, are currently serving their notice periods. Singh, the Senior Vice President of Customer Growth and Retention, Marketing and Ads, joined Flipkart in August 2022. He has a rich background, including roles as CEO of a digital twin technology startup and Executive Vice President and head of subscriptions at Hotstar. Mehrotra, Vice President of Monetisation at Flipkart, has been with the company since 2016 and previously served as Executive Director at Affle, a mobile advertising firm based in Singapore.
