Animeta, a platform for managing creators, has set a target to bring onboard approximately 200 exclusive creators in India, Southeast Asia, and the US this year. Additionally, the company intends to onboard 50 influencers by the end of April.
Animeta will be enlisting creators across 16 different categories, such as automobile, travel, people and vlog, food and drinks, among others. The company plans to enter into a 50-50 partnership with the exclusive creators. However, Animeta is not interested in bringing onboard creators who produce content related to music, politics, news, or other “edgy” categories.
According to Devdatta Potnis, the CEO of Animeta, “the company selects its creator partners through a rigorous quantitative evaluation based on factors such as genre, category, and growth potential, as well as qualitative analysis regarding their potential for longevity, repeat value, and innovation or category disruption, among other considerations”.

Animeta is a Singapore-based startup that was established in February with the objective of introducing the studio model to the creator economy. The platform is powered by artificial intelligence (AI) and was founded by Anish Mehta, the former CEO of animation studio Cosmos-Maya.
“Animeta provides creators with backend support as well as analytical assistance. The company’s goal is to enable creators to focus on their creative work without having to worry about the business aspect” , said Potnis. At present, the platform is in the testing phase and is expected to launch sometime in 2024.
Animeta has secured initial investment from Sameer Manchanda, the founder of Den Network, and Rajesh Kamat, the managing director of KKR’s Media & Entertainment Fund (Emerald Media).
The platform aims to target the creator economy not only in India but also in Southeast Asia and the US.
