Ajay Ponna Venkatesh and Sai Krishna VK, who were in charge of Flipkart Labs, the experimental division of Walmart-backed Flipkart, have officially resigned from the ecommerce company. They will be assuming Senior Vice President roles at Polygon, where they will lead a new division called Developer Studio.
Venkatesh stated that, in their new roles at Developer Studio of Polygon, he and Sai Krishna VK will collaborate with developers to advance Polygon’s growth to the next billion users. Additionally, they will continue to invest in other Web3 companies, metaverse, and artificial intelligence, while also managing their own Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Omavara.

Following the acquisition of Scapic by Flipkart in November 2020, Venkatesh and Krishna VK joined Flipkart and played a key role in establishing Flipkart Labs, which is part of the Product Strategy and Deployment (PSD) division of the Flipkart Group.
During the flagship Big Billion sale, Flipkart launched Flipverse, its expansion into the metaverse market, as part of its efforts to broaden its metaverse offerings.
Under the guidance of Venkatesh and Krishna VK, Flipkart introduced Firedrops, a series of digital collectibles, in addition to Flipverse.
For this initiative, Flipkart collaborated with eDAO, a firm incubated by Polygon that specialises in creating and launching large-scale art, media, and entertainment projects in Web3.
