Early-stage startup funding receives INR 18.4 crore pledge from Kerala Government Angel Network and other investors


At the ‘Seeding Kerala‘ conclave held by the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) in Kochi on Monday, promising companies were given a significant boost to the startup ecosystem in the state through assurances of investments totaling Rs 18.4 crore.

Sparks Angel Network, based in Kozhikode, has committed to investing Rs 8 crore in startups in the state, while Kerala Angel Network has pledged Rs 5 crore. Additionally, Phoenix Angels has stated their intent to invest Rs 3.5 crore, and a group led by startup founders is expected to contribute another Rs 1.45 crore to the pool of investments.

The ‘Seeding Kerala’ conclave, which featured over 40 speakers, 50 prominent investors, as well as over 100 HNIs, startups, policymakers, and corporates, focused on identifying potential new partners for the government’s Fund of Fund Scheme. The scheme offers equity funding to startups in need of financial support.
