The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has introduced a free online course for students called “Overview of Space Science and Technology,” which aims to educate students on various elements of space science and technology. The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) is offering free online education to both Indian and international students as part of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC).
Both Indian and Foreign students over 10 years of age are eligible for the course. The online course will be led by the country’s top space scientists. The course will start on June 6 2022, and end on July 5, 2022. It is a 10-hour course with online videos in English that students may watch. The course can be seen numerous times, and after the student has completed the videos, a quiz will be administered after each video session.

The curriculum encompasses space technology, spacecraft systems, astronomy, space science, satellite meteorology, planetary geology, and other topics. Students will be able to read satellite images to extract information and access geodata from online data repositories. Students can post their questions in the discussion forum, which will be set up at the start of the course. Students also get access to all sessions until the end of the course. The course participation certificate from the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS) ISRO will need a minimum of 60% on the quiz and 70% attendance in the video sessions.
To apply for the online course, students must first visit the IIRS website and register. The students will subsequently be sent credentials through email. And then they will be able to view the session on the IIRS E-CLASS LMS.
