Abishek Murthy has joined Lummo as Chief Growth Officer

Abishek Murthy has joined Lummo, formerly known as BukuKas, as its Chief Growth Officer. According to a statement, the Jakarta and Bengaluru-based SaaS company has strengthened its leadership team in India by hiring Alexander Peter, Senior Vice President, Founder’s Office & People Strategy; Renuka Thakur, Head of Product – Buyer & Storefront at BukuKas; and Amit Chhajer, Director of Engineering.
Murthy adds over 15 years of experience to the table. He has a solid history in both marketing and sales. He was previously the Chief of Staff for the CRO of Freshworks (Chief Revenue Officer). According to the statement, he will be in charge of everything business at Lummo, from marketing to post-purchase support.
Lummo was founded by Krishnan Menon and Lorenzo Peracchione in 2019 as BukuKas. Earlier this year, the company raised $80 million in Series C capital backed by Tiger Global and Sequoia Capital. Alexander Peter, Senior Vice President, Founder’s Office, and People Strategy, Renuka Thakur, Head of Product – Buyer and Storefront at Lummo, and Amit Chhajer, Director of Engineering, are among the new additions to Lummo’s executive team in India. Other investors in this round included CapitalG, Google’s parent company Alphabet’s growth fund, Bezos Expedition, Jeff Bezos’ personal investment firm, NuvemShop CEO Santiago Sosa, and former Lazada CEO Max Bittner.
Lummo provides entrepreneurs and companies with SaaS tools to help them expand their businesses. They collaborate with organizations to deliver technology solutions and to assist them in developing customer relationships, among other things.
Abishek brings to the organization a wealth of industry knowledge and experience. With his innovation and unique perspective on corporate strategy, he will be important in developing a brand-new formula for growth strategies that correspond with Lummo’s business goals in the next years, according to Krishnan Menon, Lummo’s Founder and CEO.
