K1 Capital has invested $22 million in Hiver, a software as a service (SaaS) startup. According to a press release from the company, existing investors Kalaari Capital, Kae Capital, and AngelList also participated in the round.
Hiver firm wants to use the newly collected funds to boost marketing and sales, as well as hire professionals in tech and other industries. Hiver is a software startup founded in 2012 by IIT-Kharagpur grads Niraj and Nitish Nandy. It works with companies that predominantly utilize email to service their clients. Hiver, which is owned by Grexit Inc., has traditionally specialized in email software. According to Niraj, the latest version of their product was only created in 2017.
Hiver partners with over 1,500 firms in 30 countries, including Harvard University, AppsFlyer, Upwork, Vacasa, and Kiwi.com. While the company began in Bengaluru, it now has a headquarters in the United States, where it generates more than half of its income. India contributes a “minuscule” amount of revenue to Hiver. Many SaaS companies based in India yet have a larger market in the United States and other nations outside of India.
